Disable Smart Mode For Many Ports

Q: Can I disable smart mode on one side of the radio link to give multiple ports until I install a larger switch?

A: You'll have to disable smart mode on both sides, save and reboot. It won't work with only one side because the port mapping would be mismatched. With smart mode off, one could have one connection to the switch at the A side and the B side could have four connections from a GigaPlus IDU (utilizing the two copper 10/100/1000 ports and the two SFP GigE ports).

With smart mode disabled, IBM will not function, but it will be possible to wire one of the data ports to the management port to provide remote management access.
