You may download the attached spreadsheet to calculate the expected receive level based on transmit power, antenna size and the link distance. The spreadsheet also provides a location for a rain rate to be entered and it will provide an attenuation estimate based on the rain rate for the distance. In both cases the receive signal level can be compared against the receive sensitivity to determine what modulation the link will be capable of running, and therefore the throughput provided by the modulation.
