Fiber on one side and copper on the other?

Can we run a fiber connection on one side of a link and Cat5e on the other 

and have that handle the traffic?

Basically are ports GE1 and GE2 bridged together?

I figured this out. 

Just had to reboot after disabling smart mode.

You are 100% correct!

Smartmode changes do require a reboot and must be set the same on both sides, so keep it in mind if you are ever swapping any radios out, you'll need to match the smartmode setting. (You'll see RF in, but no ethernet out since the port mapping doesn't match up.)

Also, please keep in mind that you'll lose the ability to use IBM with smart_mode disabled.
